Apple Music Offering Extra Free Month To 3-Month Trial Subscribers
Despite having over 40 million paid subscribers throughout a total of 115 countries, Apple Music continues to try to gain paying customers by offering additional free one month trials to those who previously trialled the service for the usual three months but decided not to become full time users for whatever reason.
Over the past few months Apple has been offering the additional trial to users in a number of countries, including the United States, United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
It is not 100% clear why Apple chooses the people that it does when sending out the offer of a free month, but those who do receive a magic ticket do so via either a push notification or email. It’s possible that users who have not tried Apple Music since its post-iOS 10 redesign are those who are being offered the new trials given the text used in some of the emails that have been sent out.
“Come see what you’ve been missing in the new Apple Music, like a simpler design that makes finding what you want, and discovering new music, easier than ever” is perhaps an indication that Apple wants people to try the new Apple Music interface for themselves.
Apple continues to push Apple Music at a time where Spotify too continues to show that there is still plenty of life in the music streaming game. Apple’s push to get people to re-try Apple Music may well prove capable of bringing users back over from Spotify, although that remains to be seen and will surely be shown in the next few rounds of subscriber numbers shared by the two companies.
